The logistics company has opened a new office in Kigali as it strengthens its presence between East and Central Africa and prepares for further expansion in the region.

UPF Group has officially opened a new office in Kigali, Rwanda, expanding its African logistics network and strengthening its presence between East and Central Africa.

The new Rwanda operation is intended to enable UPF Group to provide local support to customers and business partners in Rwanda and surrounding markets, while complementing the company’s existing offices in Kenya and Tanzania.

UPF Group said Rwanda’s strategic location and growing importance in regional trade make the country an important market for its continued development.

The Kigali office forms part of the company’s broader strategy of combining local presence and market knowledge with its international logistics capabilities.

The company is also planning to establish a presence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, further extending its network across Central and East Africa.

Local presence in Kigali

As part of the Rwanda expansion, UPF Group has appointed Grégoire Gasirabo as its local Field Sales Representative.

Based in Kigali, Gasirabo will be responsible for developing relationships with customers and business partners and supporting the continued growth of UPF Group’s activities in Rwanda and neighbouring markets.

The company said having personnel on the ground will strengthen its ability to understand local market requirements while developing relationships with businesses operating in the region.

“The opening of an office in Rwanda is an important milestone in our continued growth across Africa,” said Thomas Vestergaard, CEO of UPF Group.

“We are pleased to welcome Gregoire Gasirabo to the team, and we look forward to building strong relationships and delivering efficient logistics solutions to our customers operating in Rwanda, thereby increasing our presence in Central and East Africa.”

Expanding African logistics footprint

The Kigali opening brings UPF Group’s global office network to 13 locations, including 10 offices across Africa.

The company describes itself as an international logistics provider offering tailored logistics solutions across Africa, Europe and other international markets.

Its expansion in Rwanda comes as logistics providers increasingly seek to combine international networks with stronger local market capabilities.
