Thousands of residents in San Bruno and South San Francisco were left without power Tuesday evening, causing disruptions in the area during peak commute hours.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) confirmed that more than 2,000 customers were affected by the outage, which began around 5:30 p.m.
As a result, traffic signals across the area were rendered inoperable, leading to flash red lights at major intersections. Commuters faced significant delays as traffic flowed without direction.
PG&E crews worked quickly to restore power, and by late evening, the electricity was fully restored to the affected areas. While the cause of the outage remains under investigation, PG&E has assured residents that it is taking all necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
