CEVA Logistics has successfully implemented its Matrix WMS (warehouse management system) and signed a new five year deal with Western Power, the Western Australian state Government-owned energy provider.

Operating out of their main distribution centre in Jandakot and their regional and metro depots, CEVA Logistics has worked in close partnership with Western Power to develop and support its future supply chain strategy.

Key to that new strategy was the implementation of Matrix WMS in order to deliver further functional improvement, better stock visibility and tighter controls which together drive increased logistics productivity for Western Power.

CEVA Logistics has been providing a comprehensive range of logistics services to Western Power since 2008.

In addition to warehousing, transport, depot management and reverse logistics it also provides value added services including cable cutting and coiling, evidence retention, “pole to hole” management, bundling of transformer returns, emergency call-outs and quarantine management.

The launch of Matrix WMS and the pooling of all specialist knowledge between the two teams helped achieve its seamless induction.

Colin Davis, Supply Chain Manager at Western Power, says: “We recognise these complex projects do not happen through good luck but through a methodical approach requiring careful planning, constant dialogue and in depth testing. It was a great collaborative effort, which supports our focus on improving our business efficiency to better serve our customers.”

Carlos Velez Rodriguez, CEVA Logistics Managing Director Australia and New Zealand, adds: “Armed with a decade of specialist knowledge from working together, our team members have worked diligently to deliver on Western Power’s needs.

We believe, the introduction of Matrix WMS is the start of a new long term strategic relationship between our two organisations and we look forward to enabling Western Power to continue to efficiently deliver energy to the WA community.”
