The catalogue’s easy-to-read format sees bearing requirements set out for electric motors in four principal application areas: servomotors, high-efficiency motors, speed-controlled (inverter) motors and electric vehicle (EV) motors. For each area, the optimum bearing range is presented together with key design characteristics and accompanying technical information.
This applies to both the company’s standard series and NSKHPS high-performance bearings, as well as other technologies that support the use of bearings on electric motor shafts.
Such technologies include high performance greases and seals and, depending on the requirement profile, bearings with plastic cages, deep groove ball bearings with ceramic balls, and creep-free bearings to
minimise fretting.
NSK’s bearing range for electric motor applications addresses the latest sector trends by offering high-performance solutions with low energy loss, high reliability and long product life. For instance, the series includes bearings that have been specially designed to offer attributes such as low torque and low heat generation.
The new catalogue also contains helpful information on, for example, diagnosing bearing damage using noise or vibration analysis. This material is completed by a presentation of typical damage patterns that can occur in the bearings of electric motors.
In addition, the publication helps in selecting the optimum grease for each application. A printed version of the catalogue can be requested from NSK or downloaded in PDF format from: www.nsk-literature.com/en/industrial-motor-bearings.
