Road to MODEX 2026: The Premier Supply Chain Experience Returns to Atlanta

When manufacturing and supply chain professionals gather in Atlanta from April 13-16, 2026, they’ll experience MODEX 2026—the world’s most comprehensive supply chain event.

Hosted at the Georgia World Congress Center, this biennial gathering represents the pinnacle of industry innovation, bringing together over 1,000 exhibitors and 200+ educational sessions under one roof.

What Makes MODEX 2026 Unique

MODEX stands out as the only event that delivers a complete supply chain experience through three integrated pillars:

1. Unparalleled Exhibition Floor

The exhibition will span three halls (Buildings A, B, and C) at the Georgia World Congress Center, featuring solutions across every segment of the material handling, logistics, and transportation industry.

From traditional manual equipment to computerized automated systems and smart, connected supply chain technologies and last mile logistics, MODEX 2026 will showcase the full spectrum of industry innovation.

Modex 2026 floor plan

As John Paxton, CEO of MHI, emphasizes, face-to-face business interactions and immersive firsthand experiences with cutting-edge supply chain equipment, technology, and solutions are irreplaceable.

The value lies in seeing and operating these solutions in-person, in-action on the exhibition floor.

2. World-Class Educational Conference

MODEX 2026 offers nearly 200 free educational sessions designed to transform manufacturing and supply chain operations. The conference features four powerful keynote presentations:

Monday, April 13 at 9:00 AM Richard McPhail, CFO of The Home Depot, will share lessons learned from the supply chain front line, offering insights from one of North America’s largest retail operations.

Tuesday, April 14 at 9:00 AM Salim Ismail, Founder and Chairman of OpenExO and Founding Executive Director of Singularity University, will discuss transforming logistics with AI and the ExO Methodology. His unique perspective combines technology innovation with exponential organizational strategies.

Wednesday, April 15 at 9:00 AM Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR legend, will participate in a conversation about leadership and performance, drawing parallels between racing excellence and supply chain operations.

Wednesday, April 15 at 1:00 PM John Paxton, CEO of MHI, and Wanda Johnson, Technology Fellow at Deloitte Consulting LLP, will present a keynote panel previewing the 2026 MHI Annual Industry Report. This session will reveal critical insights about industry trends and technology adoption patterns.

3. Networking and Professional Development

MODEX 2026 creates multiple opportunities for meaningful connections:

MHI Young Professionals Network Reception (April 13) Designed to help young professionals build networks and advance their careers in material handling and supply chain.

Women in Supply Chain Forum (April 14) MHI has partnered with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association and the Warehousing, Education and Research Council (WERC) to deliver an afternoon of discussion, education, and networking for women in the industry.

Student Day (April 15) Bringing together future supply chain professionals through partnerships with WERC, the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE), and industry leaders.

MHI Industry Night (April 15) An evening entertainment event featuring comedian Jim Gaffigan, where attendees can network while celebrating the announcement of MHI Innovation Award winners.

The Power of the MHI Innovation Awards

One of MODEX’s most anticipated events is the announcement of the MHI Innovation Awards. These awards recognize groundbreaking products, technologies, and services that deliver quantifiable results. Categories typically include:

  • Best New Innovation
  • Best Innovation of an Existing Product
  • Best IT Innovation
  • Best New Innovation in Sustainability

The awards serve a dual purpose: recognizing excellence and educating attendees about the cutting-edge solutions shaping the industry’s future. With nearly 200 submissions in recent years, the competition showcases the intense innovation driving supply chain transformation.

MODEX’s Growing Impact

The event’s trajectory demonstrates its increasing importance to the industry. MODEX 2024 set records with 48,733 registered manufacturing and supply chain professionals—32% more than MODEX 2022. The 2024 event featured 1,200 exhibitors across 580,000 net square feet at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Daniel McKinnon, EVP of exhibitions at MHI, noted that attendees representing the Fortune 500, top 100 retailers, and top 100 consumer goods firms brought large teams to MODEX with plans in hand and budgets in place to make significant supply chain investments.

Technology Trends to Watch

Based on recent MODEX events and industry reports, key technology trends likely to dominate MODEX 2026 include:

Robotics and Automation Recent MHI Industry Reports show that while 29% of manufacturers currently use robotics and automation, another 54% plan to adopt these technologies within five years.

MODEX 2026 will showcase autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated storage and retrieval systems, and collaborative robots working alongside human workers.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics AI-driven supply chain solutions are transforming operations from warehouse management to predictive maintenance and demand forecasting.

Human-Centric Technology The industry is moving toward collaborative solutions that enhance human capabilities rather than replace workers, addressing the global talent shortage while improving job satisfaction.

Sustainability Solutions As environmental concerns grow, expect significant focus on technologies that reduce carbon footprints, optimize energy usage, and support circular economy initiatives.
