VietJet Boosts Capacity for Lunar New Year Travel with Fleet Expansion

As the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday approaches, VietJet Air is gearing up to meet the surge in travel demand by ramping up its flight capacity.

The airline has added four wet-leased aircraft to its fleet, which began operating on January 8, 2025. This move is expected to enhance domestic and international route services, especially for the high-demand Tet season.

VietJet’s strategic fleet expansion includes the addition of two new Airbus A321neo ACF aircraft, delivered on December 31, 2024.

The new aircraft offer advanced fuel efficiency, increased seating capacity of up to 240 passengers, and improved sustainability features, making them a perfect fit for the airline’s busy holiday schedule.

The airline’s efforts to meet the growing demand will result in an estimated 75,000 additional seats, or over 400 flights, during the Tet holiday period.

Key routes connecting northern and southern Vietnam, as well as popular international destinations, will benefit from this capacity increase, ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers during this peak period.

VietJet’s decision to scale up its operations comes as the airline anticipates strong travel demand both for domestic flights within Vietnam and for international trips to neighboring countries, all in preparation for the annual Lunar New Year celebrations.

With these additional aircraft and expanded seat capacity, VietJet is well-positioned to provide greater convenience and comfort for travelers looking to reunite with family and friends or explore new destinations during one of the most significant cultural holidays in Vietnam.

VietJet’s expansion also reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading player in the aviation industry, offering affordable yet modern travel experiences to millions of passengers.

As the holiday season approaches, travelers can look forward to a more robust and flexible flight schedule from VietJet, ensuring that their Tet celebrations are seamless, memorable, and stress-free.
