Kenya Railways Warns Public Against Fake Job Advertisements

Kenya Railways has issued a public alert dismissing recent job advertisements circulating online as fake.

The corporation clarified that it has not announced any new job openings and urged Kenyans to disregard fraudulent posts claiming to offer employment opportunities.

In an official statement, Kenya Railways emphasized that all legitimate job vacancies are advertised exclusively through their official website and mainstream media channels. They also warned that they do not charge any fees for job applications, interviews, or placements.

“We wish to inform the public that Kenya Railways has not advertised for any job vacancies. We urge job seekers to be cautious and verify all job offers through our official platforms,” the statement read in part.

The warning comes after several individuals reported encountering suspicious job postings on social media and unverified websites, claiming that Kenya Railways was offering employment to over 600 people.

These fake adverts typically request applicants to submit personal details or make payments, a clear sign of fraudulent activity.

Kenya Railways has advised job seekers to check their official website, www.krc.co.ke, for any genuine employment opportunities. The corporation also encouraged victims of such scams to report the incidents to the relevant authorities.

Cases of job fraud have been on the rise in Kenya, with scammers taking advantage of high unemployment rates to exploit desperate job seekers.

Authorities have continually urged the public to remain vigilant and verify job listings before making any commitments.

For official information and updates, the public is encouraged to follow Kenya Railways’ verified communication channels.
