Held virtually, the Summit’s overarching ambition is to further international cooperation in order to offer businesses the right regulatory conditions, information and incentives to unlock the full potential of global trade.
The Global Summit 2021 It will convene global leaders from business, government and international organizations to share perspectives on the key trends shaping the freight and logistics industry. In addition, it will take stock of the WLP’s achievements and chart the way forward for the program.
Mike Bhaskaran, CEO, WLP, said: “In partnership with business leaders and governments alike, the WLP Global Summit will seek to build consensus on how the WLP can contribute to more and better international trade.”

In the context of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the WLP is an integral part of the global response to boost international trade, facilitate access to new markets and increase resilience of the global supply chain.”
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO and of Emirates Group, will chair the Summit. It will feature discussion leaders including Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DP World, Marcelo Sampaio, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Brazil, Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives from the World Customs Organization (WCO) and other international organizations will be present, with discussion taking place under Chatham House rules.
