Wegmans has issued a public health alert regarding its frozen chicken nuggets due to potential contamination with bone fragments.

Details of the Alert

  • Product Information: The affected items are Wegmans Family Pack Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast with Rib Meat, packaged in 46-ounce plastic bags. The best-if-used-by date is August 26, 2025.
  • Establishment Number: Consumers can identify the product by looking for establishment number P-33944, which is located inside the USDA inspection mark on the packaging.

The chicken nuggets were distributed across eight states:

  • Delaware
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Washington, D.C.

Consumer Advisory

Wegmans has confirmed that the product is no longer available for purchase in stores; however, it may still be present in consumers’ freezers.

The FSIS received multiple complaints from consumers regarding the presence of bone fragments in the nuggets, prompting this alert.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries linked to the consumption of these products.

Consumers who have purchased these chicken nuggets are urged to either discard them or return them to Wegmans for a full refund.
