Maritime Week Africa is the longest-running and most popular bunkering event in the African continent.
It has built a strong reputation for attracting the highest-level industry speakers, bringing together the most important suppliers and buyers and highlighting the challenges and opportunities presented by the uniquely diverse African bunkering industry.
In January 2023, on its 14th anniversary, Maritime Week Africa will return to Cape Town, South Africa, to deliver enlightened debate on the key issues in the marine fuels sector and wider shipping industry in an African context. It has previously been held in Cape Town and Durban in South Africa, Accra in Ghana and – in February 2021 during the global pandemic – online as a virtual conference.
Maritime Week Africa 2023 will examine developments in West Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, and Mauritius, and will identify business and market opportunities, both for those already based in Africa and for those looking to expand into the Continent through targeted acquisitions, investments or new partnerships.
The audience will hear expert views and opinions from bunker suppliers and buyers, traders and brokers, fuel testing agencies, regulators, maritime lawyers, and shipping analysts.
The conference programme will look at all aspects of oil supply, refining, shipping and bunkering, from the perspective of each region of sub-Saharan Africa, featuring leading players in each sector. The programme will include a variety of top-level presentations and vibrant panel discussions. It will also include a Women in Maritime panel that will examine how the role of women is developing within the context of the shipping and bunkering sectors in Africa.
