Kenya’s Health Ministry Opens 55 Roles to Boost Digital Healthcare Systems

Kenya’s Ministry of Health has unveiled 55 job opportunities as part of its ambitious drive to modernize healthcare infrastructure through the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program.

The roles, designed to support the Healthcare Information Technology Digitalization for Universal Healthcare Project, aim to strengthen the country’s digital health systems and improve service delivery nationwide.

Roles Span Technical and Administrative Expertise
The vacancies cater to diverse skill sets, including:

  • Technical specialists: Software engineers, cybersecurity experts, cloud infrastructure engineers, and health informatics officers.

  • Financial and operational support: Finance officers, accountants, human resource managers, drivers, and administrative assistants.

  • Project leadership: Project managers, technical managers, and project support coordinators.

Applications Due by April 8
Candidates must submit applications through the Ministry’s official recruitment portal by April 8, 2025. Successful applicants will receive renewable two-year contracts.

Background and Transparency
The initiative follows recent scrutiny of healthcare digitization projects, including concerns over procurement processes in the Integrated Healthcare Information Technology System (IHITS).

While the Ministry has emphasized its commitment to transparency, applicants are advised to verify opportunities directly through official channels to avoid falling prey to scams.

In February 2024, the Ministry warned of fraudulent job postings, including a fake notice for 11,600 SHIF data entry clerk positions.

For updates, contact the State Department for Medical Services or visit the Ministry’s website.

“This is a critical step toward building a resilient, tech-driven healthcare system,” a Ministry spokesperson said. “We urge qualified professionals to apply and contribute to Kenya’s health transformation.”
