Rapid growth of electric vehicles, coupled with a rebound in the shipment of heavy equipment, will keep utilization of the largest roll-on/roll-off (ro/ro) carriers at nearly 100% even with global fleet capacity rising by a quarter over the next two years, according to the CEO of Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

Grimaldi Group
With experience dating back to 1947, the Grimaldi Group is a multinational logistics company specialised in the operation of ro-ro ships, car carriers and ferries. Grimaldi provides integrated sea-based logistics services to leading vehicle manufacturers. On its maritime routes, the Group transports cars, various types of rolling stock, containers, unitised goods and passengers.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen group
The Wallenius Wilhelmsen group is a market leader in roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) shipping and vehicle logistics, managing the distribution of cars, trucks, rolling equipment and breakbulk to customers all over the world.
The company operates around 125 vessels servicing 15 trade routes to six continents, a global inland distribution network, 66 processing centers and eight marine terminals.
Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group has 8,875 employees in 29 countries worldwide.
Höegh Autoliners
Höegh Autoliners is a leading global provider of ocean transportation services within the Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) segment. We operate a global network of deep sea trades with Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels. We offer our customers safe and secure deep sea transportation of RoRo cargo such as cars, high and heavy machinery and breakbulk. Each year, we transport around two million car equivalent units (ceu) as well as other rolling and static cargo.
CLdN
CLdN own and operate more than 30 RoRo vessels. Their fleet is the most CO2 efficient in Western Europe. After the delivery of new 5.000 lane metre mixed fuel vessels Faustine and Seraphine, the company placed an order for two new super-efficient 8.000 lane metre vessels with a technologically advanced propulsion train. They are now looking W forward to welcoming them into their fleet in 2025.
The order is a result of two years of intense engineering and development together with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
