Kale Logistics joins Port Management Association of Eastern & Southern Africa

[divider style=”solid” top=”25″ bottom=”25″][dropcap]K[/dropcap]ale Logistics Solutions (Kale) has joined as an associate member of the Port Management Association of Eastern & Southern Africa (PMAESA), the industry voice for port authorities, terminal operators, and port and maritime stakeholders from the region.

As an IT solutions provider to the global logistics industry, Kale will bring its experience in supply chain digitalisation to best practice discussions concerning competitiveness, safety, security, and environmental protection in regional port operations.

“It is my firm belief that Kale’s global IT experience in the global ports and maritime sector will bring invaluable lessons to the sector in the Eastern & Southern Africa region and our members will stand to benefit as they embrace the digitisation of their respective ports ecosystems,” said PMAESA Secretary General, Colonel Andre Ciseau.

“Acceleration in the uptake of IT systems, automation and digitalisation in the sector is a key indication of the region’s priorities as it aims to improve efficiencies in maritime gateways and increase port competitiveness, thereby attracting more shipping lines.

“We are delighted to have Kale Logistics Solutions on board as a member and more importantly a partner.”

Kale brings over ten years of expertise in comprehensive IT Enterprise Systems and Cargo Community Platforms, which offer a single electronic window capable of supporting operational flows, providing data access to various key stakeholders, and facilitating electronic exchange of trade-related information between stakeholders.

Its CODEX Port Community System (PCS) facilitates government-to-business, business-to-government and business-to-business transactions in a highly secured environment.

“With Kale’s strengths in Maritime Single Window and Port Community System, we are confident that with PMAESA we can form a unified force to strengthen the maritime digital infrastructure for this region,” said Vineet Malhotra, Co-Founder & Director, Kale Logistics Solutions.

“In view of recent updates by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to the provisions of the Facilitation (FAL) Convention, mandating electronic data exchange in ports for ship clearance, Kale is poised to facilitate implementation of this mandate jointly with PMAESA for the benefit of the entire region.”

Kale’s CODEX PCS has already enabled the reduction of average truck dwell time by nearly 70% for customer Port of Rembang since implementation earlier this year, with its CODEX Electronic Delivery Order service driving significant time- and cost-saving benefits for MSC Thailand since going live in February.

As a major player in the worldwide transport and logistics sector, Kale is now recognised by global bodies including the United Nations, Asian Development Bank, KPMG, Kellogg Business School and the Global Ports Forum.
